Tercentenary Park

Tercentenary Park

Tercentenary Park is located in the down town area of Bay St. Louis. It was established in 1999 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the city's founding. Over the years the park had become somewhat unsightly looking with just city upkeep. One of our members presented an opportunity to the club to make the park look presentable again to citizens and visitors. She had developed a renovation plan that was accepted, complete with removing old dead plants and replacing with new plants, repairing or replacing existing and missing benches, total work over top to bottom. Not a single area of the park was untouched be it new plantings, weeding, sodding, pavers, rose bushes, power washing, you name it. When the new (and old) plants were decided upon and placed, metal ground tags were ordered and installed that stated the plants common and technical name. When the project was completed the Chamber of Commerce (that we are a member of) held a ribbon cutting ceremony to acknowledge the refurbishment.
